5451 Engine Timing Tool Kit - for BMW, Land Rover
This kit has been developed to set and lock the crankshaft and camshaft components of the BMW M60 and M62 VANOS and non-VANOS V8 petrol engine used in BMW, Range Rover and the Morgan Aero 8 vehicles.

New Engine Timing Tool Kit for the BMW V8 Range
New to Laser Tools’ comprehensive range of very high quality timing tool kits is the BMW V8 Timing tool Kit (part no: 5451) which fits the M60 and M62 engine range (both Vanos (variable valve timing) and non-Vanos versions) as fitted to BMWs, Range Rovers and the Morgan Aero 8.
Modern interference engine design allows pistons and valves to ‘interfere’ or make contact if the timing belt or timing chain slips or breaks — resulting in piston and valve damage requiring an expensive engine rebuild with new pistons and valves. However, this inference can also occur if the camshaft / crankshaft timing sequence is not set accurately to the manufacturer’s specification when fitting a new timing belt or chain.
As is usual with the Laser Timing tool range, the 5451 BMW kit is comprehensive with two different sets of camshaft locking tools, chain pre-tensioner, flywheel locking tools, Vanos solenoid socket, Vanos adjuster, camshaft sensor locking tools, secondary tensioner pins and a chain tensioner block.
