Need to access really small nuts and bolts? Turn to Laser Tools

Tuesday 06 November 2018

There are many instances when you need to undo a really small nut or bolt — automotive applications include securing electrical connectors, carburettor linkages and adjusters, speaker mountings, etc, and small fasteners are often found on classic motorcycles and scooters. If you are into building and racing radio-controlled model cars, or even building and servicing computers, you’ll be very familiar with small nuts, bolts and hex-headed screws. Don’t struggle with a pair of pliers and ruin the fastener, you need the correct tools for the job, so these two sets from Laser Tools will be of interest: the combination spanner set (part number 7265) and the precision ratchet nut driver set (part number 5755).

The 7265 set includes six combination (ring and open-ended) spanners sized from 5.5mm right down to 3.2mm (3.2, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, 5.0 and 5.5mm). They are slim in design, just 100mm long, and manufactured in strong, satin-finished chrome vanadium steel. Excellent for accessing these small nuts and bolts, especially when space is restricted.

The 5755 precision ratchet nut driver set includes six hex drivers (3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, 5.0 and 5.5mm) and a very smooth finger-ratchet. The six hex drivers are colour-coded for easy identification and the ratchet can be set to forward or reverse or locked. The set is supplied in a handy storage case which will fit neatly in the tool box tray.
