New air hammer extractor uses the power of the air hammer to extract seized components
Tuesday 21 October 2014
On high-mileage diesel engines attempting to remove an injector is often a challenging task! This is caused by several factors including carbon blow-back, corrosion, electrolytic reaction between dissimilar metals, etc. Injectors can be seized so solidly that they are almost impossible to remove. Laser’s new air hammer extractor (part no 6092) uses the power of the air hammer to withdraw and extract seized and stuck components such as diesel injectors, pivot pins and small diameter bearings.
For removing diesel injectors, a full range of adaptors is available to suit most injectors fitted to modern cars. Once the extractor is screwed on to the injector, and the air hammer connected, the powerful impact and vibration will help extract the most stubborn components. The Laser Tools air hammer (part no 6031) is the ideal partner for the new extractor.
This is a registered design and manufactured by Laser Tools in their Sheffield manufacturing plant — another valuable tool for the professional technician.
