Tool Connection Open Days 2014

Tool Connection Open Days 2014

Thursday 25 September 2014
On Wednesday the 10th and Thursday 11th the Warwickshire-based tool manufacturer Tool Connection held two special open days to celebrate the company’s continued success and expansion, particularly concentrating on the opening of their latest 30,000 sq ft warehouse and the formation of their BTCC (British Touring Car Championship) team, Laser Tools Racing.

This was a remarkable showcase for this local company and was held at their Southam headquarters where tools and equipment from all their brands (Laser Tools, Gunson Tools, Kamasa, Power-TEC bodyshop equipment and Connect consumables) was on display and being demonstrated over the two-day event.

Also on display was the Laser Tools Racing BTCC car and its driver Aiden Moffat (at 17 years old, the youngest ever driver in the BTCC), together with the motorcycle and classic touring car teams that the company also sponsors, and the fabulous Aston Martin Le Mans racer (Laser Tools are the Official Tool Supplier to Aston Martin Racing).

Aiden Moffat hosted an informative question and answer session on his first season in the British Touring Car Championship and then it was time to cut the ribbon and allow entry into the massive new 30,000 square foot warehouse — there were gasps from the invited guests at the sheer size of the building and the line up of vehicles and activities set out for them.

Rich Jones, Senior Games Designer of Southam-based Codemasters Software Company said: “Was great to be invited down to Laser Tools and the Tool Connection — seeing all the race cars and the touring car team was terrific. Really professional set up with really friendly, professional people, was a pleasure and a privilege.”

The Tool Connection’s Managing Director Martin Smith commented: “We held the open days to say thank you — thank you to our customers and distributors and thank you to our staff — both responsible for the continued success and expansion of our company. But we are always looking to the future, and were very gratified at the enthusiastic response to the displays of new tools and equipment.”
